Founded with clients in mind

## Our Origin

In 1990, [David Clarke](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/about/team/david-clarke?hsLang=en) left the corporate valuation world with a vision to start something better. He believed the highest quality valuation services would be achieved when developed in a client-focused, boutique environment.  

He then founded the Griffing Group.

## Building the Vision

In the early 1990s, David recruited a team of [seasoned valuation experts](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/about/team?hsLang=en) to join him in carrying out his vision for a client-centric firm.  

Our [hiring approach](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/about/careers?hsLang=en) was simple and intentional: to bring on proven experts who shared David's values of excellence in work product, ethical conduct, and professional leadership.

## Growing Our Valuation Expertise

After serving in leadership roles at several national valuation firms, [Dan Van Vleet](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/about/team/daniel-van-vleet?hsLang=en) joined the Griffing Group as a partner in 2016. His depth of experience as a testifying expert and as the developer of the Van Vleet Model for pass-through entities strengthened our [valuation offerings](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/service-areas/complex-commercial-litigation?hsLang=en).

## Expanding Consulting Excellence

In 2023, the firm expanded its services to include [strategic advisory](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/service-areas/strategic-business-consulting?hsLang=en) and [M&A consulting](https://www.thegriffinggroup.com/service-areas/strategic-business-consulting/mergers-acquisitions-advisory?hsLang=en).

With these added capabilities, the Griffing Group is uniquely positioned to provide a holistic suite of consulting services to corporate clients, private equity firms, attorneys, and individuals.
